Baptisms

Baptism makes us members of the Church, the worldwide Christian family.
Baptism can happen at any age. For adults and young people, baptism involves a personal commitment to
Christian faith.
For babies and small children, parents make this commitment on behalf of their child.
The Anglican Church recognises baptisms performed in other Christian churches.
Baptism is required for those wishing to receive Holy Communion.
Baptism usually happens as part of regular service. Make sure you arrange the date with the clergy well
ahead of time.
Weddings

We are happy to help you celebrate your special day with dignity, reverence and meaning.
St. Barnabas is an Anglican Church.
The normal expectation is that at least one of the partners to a proposed marriage is a member of the Anglican Church and at least one must be baptised.
Three forms of the marriage liturgy are provided in A New Zealand Prayer Book.
The clergy are willing to discuss the wedding service with you and to adapt it to meet your needs, remembering that this is a Christian service.
Please feel free to contact us if you are looking at wanting to have your wedding at Onslow.
We would be happy to talk through everything with you to make your day special and as stress free as possible.
Funerals

At Onslow Anglicans we regard it a privilege to assist families as they prepare to mark the death of a loved one.
For the clergy funerals are a priority ministry and they have considerable experience in providing dignified and appropriate services.
Contact one of the clergy as soon as possible; they can offer immediate ministry and advice. You will also need to contact the person's doctor and a Funeral Director if it hasnt been done already.
